1. Entry Requirements

Foreign nationals wishing to enter Tanzania must have a valid passport or other authorized travel document with at least six months’ validity, as well as a Residence Permit or Pass (if applicable). A valid visa, obtained either from a Tanzanian Mission abroad or at designated entry points within Tanzania, is also required unless there is a visa waiver agreement between the applicant’s country and Tanzania.

2. Visa

A visa grants permission for a foreigner to enter and stay in Tanzania for a specified period. Visas are issued to visitors for purposes such as tourism, business, healthcare, study, and other activities.

3. Who Needs a Visa

All foreign visitors to Tanzania require a valid visa, except those from countries with a visa exemption agreement with Tanzania.

4. Entry Authorization

After fulfilling the entry requirements, visitors are issued a Visitor’s Pass, valid for up to three months (or up to six months for East African Community citizens).
