About Simon:
Simon C. Mears is the Honorary Consul for the United Republic of Tanzania in Denmark. As the Head of Mission at the Tanzanian Consulate in Denmark, he is responsible for leading and fostering Tanzania’s diplomatic, cultural, and business relations with Denmark. His role involves consolidating and enhancing the more than 60 years of collaboration between the two nations, with a particular focus on economic investment, trade, and tourism.

Simon’s appointment reflects his dedication to strengthening bilateral ties, promoting Tanzania as a stable and investor-friendly destination, and showcasing the country’s resources and opportunities, such as its growing economy, mining sector, and tourism industry. His leadership embodies the goal of creating mutual and reciprocal benefits for both nations.

Ms. Doris (Doreen) Sangala

Programme Leader

About Doreen:
Doreen is an experienced Social and Health Care Assistant with a strong background in
elderly care, nursing support, and education. She has worked across healthcare,
childcare, hospitality, and tourism in both Tanzania and Denmark. She brings a
combination of professional care skills with customer service and cultural awareness.
Her diverse experience reflects adaptability, responsibility, and a consistent commitment
to supporting people of all ages and backgrounds. Doreen has been appointed as the
Programme Leader for our new project called "Bridge to Belonging", working to help the
Diaspora community, and those Tanzanians coming to Denmark for the first time and
who need initial guidance and support. She will be helping to create and supporting new
and relevant initiatives and programmes for the community.

Mr. Tambwe Ferej Tumba

IT and Communications Officer

About Tambwe:
Tambwe Ferej Tumba is the IT and Communications Officer at the Tanzanian Consulate in
Denmark, where he coordinates IT and SoMe. He also works with the projects and initiatives
that strengthen ties between Tanzania and the Tanzanian diaspora community. With a strong
background in IT and project management, cross-cultural communication, and digital
innovation, he plays a key role in supporting the team in collaboration between government,
private sector, and community organizations.
His professional experience spans both Denmark and Tanzania, including leadership in
international NGO projects, cultural exchange programmes, renewable energy initiatives, and
digital literacy efforts. Tambwe supports the team in advancing initiatives that promote
education, sustainability, and community empowerment, ensuring that the Tanzanian diaspora
remains connected and engaged in national development. Tambwe has worked with among
others Cowi, and Game Denmark (NGO).
Fluent in English and Swahili, with professional proficiency in Danish, Tambwe is dedicated
to strengthening cultural understanding, supporting Tanzanians abroad, and creating
opportunities for collaboration that benefit both Tanzania and Denmark.
